Liz Black fall/winter 2011

Liz Black graduated at the famous Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, presenting a series of dresses inspired by the work of artists Sonia Delaunay and Jackson Pollock. The new fall/winter 2001-12 collection recalls these themes dear to the designer: shapes are rigorous and geometrical, where the main figure is the circle, something which, if not the very structure of the dress, is taken up in the details of seams, pockets, hems. The colors range from gray to blue, with some hints of black or a warm ocher. The Pollock-like prints appear on one garment only, as a common thread with previous collections, to give way to plain colors.
