Surreal characters by Kevin Roosevelt Kao

Kevin Roosevelt Kao is a sculptor from San Diego, USA. The artist captured my attention with his really creepy works. Artist makes surreal character objects, he mostly uses stoneware and porcelain and combines these main materials with different others like wood, metals, yarn and paper. According to the artist, he represents humor, pain, whimsy and satisfaction which we can be easily seen from his character objects’ facial expressions. The characters and expressions are likely from dreams and nightmares which made me categorize his works as surreal, reflections of the subconscious.
