SauberArnolds Sculpture

I am really struck by the sculptural works of Amy Arnold and Kelsey Sauber Olds who produce works under the name “SauberArnolds“. They recently opened their Etsy shop this year creating eerie works of art out of basswood which are then decorated with milk paint and acrylic wash. Their work reminds me of something from old German or Russian fairy tales. Their sculptures are beguiling in their simplicity and I love the knowing expressions that the sculptures have which give them a slightly creepy and mysterious quality. I particularly like their pieces “Animal”, “Egg Collector” and “Little Blue Girl”.
