I think I have a thing for geometric shapes. There seems to be a theme emerging in the jewelry designers I’ve been sharing with you here at TheMAG, and designer Annika Kaplan is no exception. With a delicate sensibility and an affinity for raw materials, Annika creates wearable jewelry by hand in her South Minneapolis studio. The pieces, composed of blackened sterling silver, brass, 14kt gold and semiprecious stones, are inspired by nature and folk traditions. Geometric triangles and half moon shapes are essential to her aesthetic. Mixed with stones and metals, the end result is feminine, covetable jewelry perfect for layering.
