We present another designer won by the cosmopolitan flair of London (and how could I blame her?). Rebecca Johnson grew up in Israel, but decided to return to England, her born land, attracted by the cultural diversity and the many ethnic groups living in its capital. Here, Rebecca decided to establish her brand Riyka. For spring/summer 2012, the inspiration comes from even farther away, both in time and space: the Afro beat, especially the figure of the Nigerian singer and activist Fela Kuti, and the 70′s. This mix of elements bring to life a series of mini-dresses, tops and skirts with minimal design, geometric patterns, and a color palette of orange and various shades of blue, declined on different fabrics, linen, denim and leather. The reference to 70′s is strong, especially in trapezoids shapes, and is also found in the unusual make-up presented in the lookbook.
