By now we know, you know and I know it, all televisions repeat it, it’s read in the newspapers and listened on the radio, every passing day someone reminds us, we see it with our own eyes and experience it on our skin on a daily basis: we are in a crisis, there’s no money and for young people like us economic independence is increasingly becoming a dream. There are those who respond getting depressed, complaining and giving up all hope in the future, however, there are people who react and use their own talents, transforming difficulties into new ways to express themselves and new opportunities to demonstrate their quality and their value. Thus was born “
Carry Home“, a project by Byeongmin Choe, Sangok Sohn, Moonyong Kim, Sungeun Cho, Aram Choi, Gyejin Jun, Soojung Park, Sejin Lim, Dongha Kim, Sukyoo Bae and Sungwoo Lim, students and designers at Korea Sejong University that, armed with little money but with so much talent and creative spirit, have created a line of furniture to exhibit and present these days during “
Tokyo Designers Week” (among other things, as you read in my short bio, I still dream to visit Japan, but I’m sure one day I will succeed and maybe I will make a live report from the design week). Solutions that combine functionality and aesthetics in a simple and unique concept, modern and essential design with simple and light materials. A true mobile home, a set of six different pieces of furniture: a wardrobe with hangers and compartments, a configurable bed, a suspension shelving with six spaces, a partition wall with objects holding shelves, a table and a comfortable stool, all fully collapsible. Pieces that can be closed and turn into boxes, suitcases and trunks, easy to carry and use, ideal for those who love to travel and have “home” always with them. Durable solutions, specially designed to easily adapt to any space and every need.
In the funny video you find as always after the photo gallery, you can see the early stages that led to the implementation of the project and the final result.
