Electric chairs

When I came across this project I was surprised to see it wasn’t widely covered by the press. Or am I the last one to know? Anyway, if you’re as late as me, I’ll give you the news: American director Robert Wilson has designed a collection of chairs for Kartell, in celebration of his 70th birthday – who wouldn’t like to celebrate their birthday like that? Entitled “7 Electric Chairs … As You Like It” they are made from transparent polycarbonate, with neon light embedded into the structure. The pieces were exhibited at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and after that 7 series were produced to be sold in design galleries around the world. Fancy one? here are my top three favourites.
