Carrot cake

I really recommend having a go at this warming winter carrot cake by Anne and Philine of “A tale of two“. Anne and Philine study architecture in Berlin when not baking and making culinary delights. They are a wonderful source for interesting vegetarian and vegan recipes and the photographs of the finished products by Annekathrin Warter are inspiring. This wonderful recipe uses hazelnuts and ginger to give it an extra twist-so much better than the sickly sweet versions found in supermarkets. The lace pattern is made by placing a lace doily on the cake and then sprinkling it with icing sugar. Have a look at their food blog for this recipe and more ideas.
