As an avid laptop user (although I haven’t converted to the apple yet) I found this simple idea of the American designer Mika Becktor just brilliant. The computer case is an indispensable object, although its only purpose is transportation, while during use is often placed in bags or backpacks, and the device resting on a surface, which also doesn’t allow either a optimal position for the user, or proper ventilation.
The Green Case is not just a computer case, but a true portable workstation, designed for MacBook Pro (but perfect for any size compatible laptop), completely made of cardboard, which ensures resistance, while being totally recyclable and environmentally sustainable. The central part can be folded to allow a better position for your elbows and ventilation to prevent overheating. The two side wings provide a smooth surface on which to rest your smartphone or slide your mouse. Furthermore, the rigid structure also allows to carry A4 documents without creasing them. If you think cardboard is too poor, or you are afraid that use can ruin your Green Case, the designer has created The Black Case, a luxury version made of leather. Both products are in prototype stage and, while awaiting a patent and start production, the designer has organized a fundraise that you can support
