Friday is often completely dedicated to artists and today the line between art and fashion is faint. In fact I can’t call these wearable sculptures just shoes. The young Parisian designer Joachim de Callatay has a study background in industrial design, which emerges from the unusual footwear he creates, by hand only, and sometimes it takes more than 24 hours to finish one pair. The iconic platforms, such as the model with black leather upper that we show, are inspired by traditional Japanese houses.
