Brandon Ricci – Express Yourself Every Day

For the usual Friday column dedicated to lighting design we propose a project conceived by Brandon Ricci, selected from the competition “Express Yourself Every Day” dedicated to personal expressiveness, organized by Philips and Vice.com. A contest that sees five characters sharing the passion for creativity but engaged in very ordinary daily works, suggesting five ideas that each of them has always dreamed to accomplish, and challenge each other. The project that will receive most votes by March 16, closing day of the competition, will be realized. Brandon Ricci, who in ordinary life follows the production process of an innovative nail polish, has a dream: to design intelligent systems and products that can help us sustain the environment by reducing energy consumption, without special arrangements by the user. Just like the lamp he decided to design: an eco-sustainable solution with futuristic design, a structure that, using sensors to detect the position and heat, is aimed at obtaining and saving the highest amount of energy possible.
