Brown sugar maple cookies

Although I’m pretty glutton, I don’t like desserts to be too sweet. For this reason I prefer to use brown sugar, with a stronger flavor, as a sweetener. How could I refrain from presenting the recipe for these brown sugar cookies, with the add of just a hint of maple syrup (one of the things that I envy to Americans is the ease with which they can buy it)?
