Proudrace spring/summer 2012

We had already talked about the Philippine brand Proudrace here, when we presented the fall/winter 2011. Few days ago a very welcome email updates on me about the new spring/summer 2012 collection, “Gang Of”. The sources of inspiration are different, and one that stood out instantly draws on the customs of religious groups (the reference to the Amish is obvious). But other mechanisms take over in the creation of “Gang Of”: the stronger is the memory of adolescence and the love for the 90′s (which characterizes the whole production of the brand). Silouettes that remind skaters clothes, but filtered by the extreme minimalism of the brand and, of course, with an approach to modernity and today’s market. An attempt to propose a new lecture for what the two designers have loved and believed in their youth. What emerges is a collection anything but nostalgic, very modern, which is mainly characterized by the use of a single color, a choice that the brand often takes: if it was white in winter, it’s now time for total black.
