Momo stool

Mar 08 2012, 12:00 pm 0 Heloisa Righetto

I’ve seen people upcycling wooden cable spools before, and although it is great to reuse something, I had never seen a creative solution. Until today! Really nice revamp by Argentine designer Luciana Gonzalez Franco, the Momo stool was inspired by Latin American festivities (“Momo” is the king of carnival). Here is what she has to say about the piece: “As most of my design research, this product arises exploring the nature of discarded and non-traditional materials and their possibilities to generate new forms. It was made recycling cable reels then covered with elastic thread so as to “disguise” inner structure and generate an object full of colour and movement. Hand-made using simple productive processes”.
