Mother of Pearl spring/summer 2013

We present the new collection of the British brand “Mother of Pearl“, closely related to the art world and collaborating with a different artist each season. The chosen one for the spring/summer 2013 is the Italian-born artist now based in New York, Francesco Simeti, whose works, apparently classic paintings with landscapes and animals, are in fact a criticism of the media, magnifying glass through which we see the world in a distorted way. Francesco’s prints come to life on dresses with bold and structured silhouettes, playing with volumes, sometimes revealing and sometimes concealing the body shapes. Pieces with a sartorial taste, pencil skirts embellished with ruffles or wavy edges, almost masculine blazers, trapeze-shaped dresses, blouses with curled edges becoming a decorative pattern: I love every detail in this collection.
