God Save The Cars

Nov 05 2013, 8:30 am 0 Monica Bogliolo

A collection that catches the eye mainly for the use of color and fabrics. Anne-Lina Dingsor-Uudelepp is a neo-graduate and winner of the David Band Textiles Award 2013 for her experiments with velvet and silk. God Save The Cars collection is inspired by the riots in the summer of 2012, and in particular the pattern created on the tissues recall the games of fire of the burning cars in the streets of London. A reflection on the deterioration of the urban centers and the energy, as negative, that the clash inevitably generates. The end result is unsettling: the collection has nothing violent or raw, but it’s a riot of color and shape, the shiny fabrics reminiscent of sportswear of the 80′s and 90′s. A set of clothes with a high-impact, result of an experiment between prints, patterns and materials.
