The collections of the designer
Chelsea Bravo offer a different approach to menswear design, combining modern and creative tailoring techniques with classic details and a decidedly street taste. The spring/summer 2013, Dysfunction, presents a series of garments with structured yet soft shapes, capable to adapt to the body. We find references to Africa and the aesthetics of the Muslim countries, especially in silhouettes and in the headgears. The color palette used is very thin, composed of natural colors, ranging from beige, pearl grays, whites, which enhance the organic characteristics of materials, such as cotton and linen. The only futuristic “quirk” is the use of cotton with metallic effect, which gives a modern twist to a collection on the whole minimalist and linear.
