Chastity belts

Instrument of control, coercion, used, especially in the past, to keep the virginity or to prevent women from having sex outside of marriage. I’m talking about the chastity belt, object of a sort of socio-cultural and fashion experiment. The designer Camilla Fucili, Italian transplanted in the United States, reviews and reinterprets in a modern and ironic way an object symbol of humiliation and chauvinism, transforming it into a reflection on the themes of chastity, sexual attraction, but also a kind of critique to the fashion world imposing its own choices, like the husbands imposed the belts to their wives.
