The BOCS (Box Outside Chairs) project, by Italian designer Corrado Galzio, is the result of the study of what, in the approach to eco-design, is often defined as the coherence between content and container. A corrugated cardboard box, a usual container that, exploiting triangular punched segments (methodology already used in the “UPACKS” universal packaging system conceived by designer Patrick Sung), is modeled according to the anatomy of the user, changing the initial stiff and uncomfortable shape, not suitable for a seat, in a comfortable and incredibly relaxing chair. A piece of furniture born from the disobedience to the rules, in an attempt to transfer the concept of container within a domestic environment.
