I meet these nice guys and their wonderful bags at a design fair in Budapest, although they are from the Czech Republic. I remember, that a bright, shiny, red bag was hypnotizing me from the other side of a crowded marketplace. When I finally reached their stand, I wasn’t dissapointed. All of
Playbag‘s products are amazing. They are extremely well built, practical, enduring and aesthetically pleasing. The bags are usually made from leather, strong canvas, tarpaulin (my red love was from that material) and leather. Trendy backpacks and elegant shoulder bags also can be found in their collections, it’s not limited to urban youngsters. Recently their favorite product is the grey backpack named Welzl after a Moravian wanderer, arctic explorer, supertramp, Eskimo chief, inventor, explorer and Story teller: Jan Welzl. As every Playbag it’s super useful, with numerous pockets and sleeves and made out of cotton and leather accessories. The designers at Playbag handle each piece as a different project that is not following, but setting trends. From the first idea to the finished product, everything happens in their workshops. On their website you can check out their webshop and location of retailers. I’m going to meet them again at Budapest on 13th of October at the
Wamp Design Market, check them out if you can!
