I’m a fan of furniture that is both unusual and beautiful and I think that this chest of drawers by Iris Furnishing is simply stunning. Iris Furnishing is an independent retailer based in England and specialises in championing the lesser known furniture crafting techniques of India. I’ve chosen this pink mother of pearl inlay chest of drawers piece for its wonderful vibrant colour and its high level of detailing which is done entirely by hand. I like mother of pearl as a material because of its iridescent shimmer and smooth texture and I wish it was used in furniture more often. I think that the pink colour of this piece would look fantastic in a neutral coloured room giving it a bright splash of interest and I also love the fact that the inlay looks a little antiqued, making the piece look extra special.
