Barrel couch by Vladimir Kevreshan

Vladimir Kevreshan is a furniture designer based in Tel Aviv. He created the “Barrel” concept couch after visiting a factory and finding a huge pile of barrels that were going to be turned into scrap metal. Instead of relegating barrels to waste Vladimir was inspired to turn them into the central focus of a piece of furniture to create an “industrial elegant” aesthetic. I love the colour pop the barrels give the couch as well as their form providing the armrests and storage space all at the same time. The exposed screws of the couch also echo those inside the barrels and the smooth wood used for the back and base of the piece provides a wonderful textural contrast to the metal elements. The overall effect is fun, fresh and very stylish.
