From shade to life

Sep 11 2012, 12:00 pm 0 Marco Russo

An interesting exploration of shadows run by designers Maxime Dubreucq, Benoit Louzaouen and Vincent Claudepierre. A lighting project which attempts to give life and form to an inanimate object, in order to create a paradoxical approach to life. The first prototype, “Philou le Caribou” is a caribou head wall, recreated with twenty-three pieces of laser cut recycled cardboard and illuminated by a low temperature LED light, a still life animal that through the shades and hues of the shadows seems to come alive, to take shape from the light and live into the shadows.
