Only a few months ago we
talked, twice, about Selektornia, the Polish collective formed by designers Edyta Jermacz and Magda Hasiak. They create for each season two separate lines, while maintaining a common name. With a leap of a year, in these days Edyta Jermacz previewed the new autumn/winter 2012 collection. From the streetstyle that characterized the previous production (style she hasn’t abandoned, she assures me), the designer is thrown headlong into a very Haute Couture collection, conceptual, very difficult (if not even impossible) to wear in everyday life, but extremely fascinating. An experiment and a challenge unto herself, the will to demonstrate how far she could be pushed. Dresses with knit embroidery seemingly random that wrap around the body, hats, almost like masks, in feathers and voile, sculptural coats with endless drapes. An style exercise that sees Edyta winning, able to show great versatility and innate aptitude for spectacular catwalk fashion.
