Lizzie Allen for Habitat

Habitat is as important for British Design as Ikea is for Swedish, so it was really sad news when earlier this year they announced store closures all around Europe and a massive staff reducing. They may have had a bad year, but we can see they’re optimist. Yesterday I went to the press view of the SS12 collection, which will be available to buy within a few months. Beautiful contemporary pieces of furniture alongside a wide range of tabletop and kitchenware products, made from a variety of materials. I have to admit there was nothing that I wouldn’t buy for myself, but Lizzie Allen’s collection caught my eye. The designer has developed an exclusive print which was used in tabletop pieces as well as upholstered furniture. A lovely tribute to London!
