Chalkboard Skulls

I can’t tell if the guys at “I am home” were seeing Hamlet at the theater when they got this idea. The fact is that the duo of Chicago-based designers (and life couple), The Belknaps, aka Sarah and Joseph, came up with this home decor piece, a perfect meeting point between funny and macabre. It’s the plastic reproduction of a human skull, surprisingly plausible, covered with a special paint which creates a blackboard effect. Currently, these skulls are available in 12 colors, and you can buy them online (list of retailers at “get iamhome” section) from 38 dollars, provided with chalk and a gift box (desn’t it remind the final scene of Seven?).
