In the U.S. every year approximately 100 billion plastic bags are used and thrown away and only 1% is recycled. It is also more expensive to recycle a bag than to create one …
The designer Sheila Odessey has found a way to reuse this material and create 100% green accessories. Sheila first cuts the bags into strips, then weaves them to create different textures, makes them uniform like a fabric, with which then makes her accessories. Her creations can be purchased on her site, or you can send her a bag that she will transform into something unique and exclusive.
