Salasai fall/winter 2013

In the common imaginary, the 50′s are the mirror of a society based on appearance, think of the filmography that portrays the typical perfect couple or family that hides psychosis, depression and abnormal behaviors. An incredibly glamorous scenario, both in design and fashion, where the true human nature is hidden and camouflaged. These reflections are at the basis of the collection Heartlands, from Australia based brand Salasai. A collection that is inspired by the film Revolutionary Road, but if we omit the melancholy atmospheres evoked by the movie, the collection in itself is just amazing: minimal lines, trapeze-cut outerwears (see the amazing double-breasted jacket with 3/4-length sleeves), all declined on clothes for her and for him, where the common thread is the Missoni-like pattern with the warm colors of autumn.
