Manhattan pendent lamp

Feb 08 2013, 12:30 pm 0 Marco Russo

For the Friday column dedicated to lighting design, today we show “Manhattan” lamp, created by designer Tomas Eidsvold Eriksen from the Norwegian studio Eidsvold Design. A hanging lamp with a simple and essential design in pure Scandinavian style, a solution that is inspired by the fascinating New York skyline, and in particular by the skyscrapers’ windows lit during the evening hours. A cylindrical structure in steel characterized by eighty-eight circular holes placed randomly to imitate a building with windows, illuminated by two LED modules placed inside the structure, one at the bottom and one at the top, independent elements that allow the user to choose the mode of orientation of light and its intensity. A design that can adapt to different environments and locations, and that can be used as a usual source of light or as an elegant mood lighting.
