Kawaii fall/winter 2013

I’ll never fully understand how fashion works in Australia. Now it should be winter (which even here the situation is not much different, even if it’s spring) and in fact the designer Kristy Barber, with her brand Kawaii, presents the fall/winter 2013 collection, “Regalia”. On the one hand we have the colour palette of typically spring pastel nouances (from yellow to blue, to pink, combined with neutral colors like melange gray), on the other hand the nature of the garments, typically winter, with its soft and enveloping shapes. A mix of styles that creates an interesting contrast, infusing a note of cheerful and a slightly retro and naïve look to the entire collection.
