During FuoriSalone at Milan Design Week, my attention was captured by Kiki van Eijk‘s works at Opificio 31. Invited as a guest, she has exhibited her works for the tenth anniversary of Tuttobene, the exhibition area of the Belgian and Dutch design. Do you ever think about giving life to your doodles? That’s exactly what I thought when I saw Floating Frames 2.0 collection. The objects are made with anodized alluminum and they remind me of doodles that have magically being given a life. The idea behind them it is to realize objects that have the appearance of skeletons of real objects, realized as they were only outlined sketches.
