Plunger lamp

Dec 07 2012, 8:30 am 0 Marco Russo

For the usual Friday column dedicated to lighting design, today I want to show the lamp created by Italian designer Virginia de Colombani. This project was developed with the aim of de-contextualize an object of common use, such as a plunger, and turn it, in a playful and funny way, in a lighting solution consisting of only recycled parts: the cup of a plunger, a plastic tube with neon light and a cork. An object completely different from its primary function, that using the characteristics of the elements that compose it, gives life to a unique lamp that can stick to any smooth surface, passing in an instant or according to the needs, from wall lamp to light desk, characterized by a curious pressure ignition mode.
