Next Generation fall/winter 2012

The second event held Tuesday, February 28 in the amazing Castello Sforzesco in Milan was the presentation of the young winners of the Next Generation contest. Of the 100 nominations received, a jury made of journalists, buyers and fashion specialists, selected four talents, all between 22 and 26 years, which we will undoubtedly hear about in the future. The first was the Italian Ludovico Loffreda, who presented a collection strongly inspired by Japanese imagery. Clean and minimal silohuettes, games of colours and tissues (skin with vinyl effect, matched to silk and wool) and key accessories, such as the creepers worn by models, or the particular bag, attached to the sleeve by means of a zipper. The second was Harunobu Murata, Japanese who studied in Italy. His style is minimalist and tailoring, he presented sculptures of fabric, almost architectural, with a wise use of folds and seams. A classic but not obvious elegance. The French designer Camille Pfister tries to mix a French taste with the purely Italian style. A burst of color on the catwalk: the neutral beige and cream is enriched with strong contrasts with blue, red and pink. The volumes are soft and generous, and the shapes are outlined by the details of the woolen plaits, or the belt close to the body as a tourniquet. Lastly, Santo Spada presented an ethereal and feminine woman, dresses with soft folds, enhanced by the movements of the models on the catwalk, revealing sensual necklines on the back.
