In times of economic crisis, stories like this are always a burst of optimism. The designer Julia Vallelunga founds her jewelry brand La Raffinerie in 2009, when, after years of office jobs, she decided that her work wasn’t creative enough. She resign and dedicate to her new brand body and soul, and the choice is winning: after only three years, La Raffinerie is distributed in Japan and USA, in addition to Canada, where Julia now lives and works. The studio is based in Montreal, Julia designs every model which is then produced by a small creative team, carefully and proudly by hand, using recycled materials as possible, as for packaging made of recycled paper. The result are beautiful necklaces with a tribal yet romantic taste, of which we present a small selection.
