Amanda deLeon fall/winter 2012

Religious iconography mixed with edgy garments, this (and much more) in fall/winter 2012 collection by American designer Amanda DeLeon. The inspiration comes from the monumental cemeteries of New Orleans, with their impressive architecture, history and culture of the city. From the reflection on the relationship between life and death, anxiety, depression and rebirth, comes a unique collection with a strong aesthetic impact, that reveals a surprising taste for attention to detail. Austere garments, leather details vaguely bondage, strategic use of colors (only white, black and red) and crosses. As a lover of Gothic references, I can only adore this collection.
