X-Ray Bags

Last week, looking a street style blog, I came across a picture of a well-dressed man carrying a soer black bag, but with a detail that made it pretty unusual: a gun embossed on 3-D on the leather, detail that immediately made me think of the X-rays at airports.
After some research, I discovered that these bags are created in Amsterdam by the designer duo “Vlieger and Vandam”, and the bag in question belongs to the collection “Guardian Angel”, which is updated with new models and colors each season and remains one of their bestsellers. In this small workshop, Carolien Vliger and Hein van Dam have developed a method to incorporate three-dimensional elements in the processing of the leather, thanks to some changes to a machine for the manufacture of hats. The series “Guardian Angel” wants to narrate, raw and with a hint of irony, the addiction to violence and our increasing addiction to fear. Available directly on the site from 175 Euros.
