Today I show you the amazing work made by the artist Dimitra Tzanos
in collaboration with Charis Tsevis
for Kozi’s, a grill house in Athens. Two intricate portraits of a lion and a lioness, illustrations composed by assembling a base of 70 squares, 45 horizontal rectangles and 45 vertical rectangles made by hand on paper and then digitized by Dimitra Tzanos. Geometries inspired by African culture that through Ndebele inspired doodles and decorations evoke the origins of the place and their owners. Elements which are subsequently resized, copied, put side by side and magically assembled in a scrupulous work of patience and skill from Charis Tsevis and his famous mosaic style.
