The Mayan collection

Jul 23 2012, 12:00 pm 0 Monica Bogliolo

In the year that should mark the end of the world, there’s a brand that decided to exorcise the fear of the apocalypse creating a collection dedicated precisely to the Maya, who made the prophecy that sees us extinct before December 21 this year. It is the London based label “Eye Of The World Designs”, founded by designers Hope Von Joel and Liam Motyer. They produce small accessories that are inspired by design and art, rather than from the world of fashion, skillfully blending pieces of recycled wood with Perspex or PVC, creating a nice contrast of materials and colors. The fall/winter 2012-13, called in fact “The Mayan Collection” includes necklaces, bracelets and belts, in which geometric shapes typical of the Mayan culture and architecture (from the circle to the pyramid) are interwoven with vivid splashes of color.
