The designer that we present today is, by chance, based in London, and produces, by chance, hats. Yes, I’m talking of those typically English hats, the kind you see on the nobles’ heads at weddings, when they dismiss their crowns. She is Olivia Roat
, and in her workshop in Chelsea she creates these wonderful little fabric sculptures, with the delightfully retro look, which lie midway between the pin ups of the 50s and the ’30s silent movies divas. A vintage mood broken by unusual and avant-garde details, like the studs or the minimal shapes from which branch off feathers and lace. We offer a preview of some models of the spring/summer 2013 collection.
