Minna Palmqvist spring/summer 2013

Minna Palmqvist is a designer of Finnish origin, now based in Stockholm, Sweden. She founded the namesake brand in 2009 and soon began to receive the first awards: a nomination in 2011 for Mercedes Benz Young Fashion Industry Awards in Stockholm, then in 2012 she won the Who’s Next Young Designer Contest and was a finalist in the T-Force Fashion Awards in China. The spring/summer 2013, seemingly ethereal, composed of pieces with delicate nouance, actually plays with the ambiguity of the woman’s perception of the body in opposition to what society expects. Femininity on a thread, in a precarious balance between self-acceptance and the mask we wear in front of others to look different, better. A concept that is expressed through a collection with minimalist shapes and colors, featuring three-dimensional structural patterns that highlight body parts which can be strong or critical, such as hips, breasts, waist.
