Some time ago I received a very welcome submission from a small independent brand from Argentina. It’s Luli Grün, label founded in 2007 by designer Lucila Grün Philips. The concept behind the brand is the spiral, a symbol of the infinite life cycle of nature and the constant evolving. Playing and experimenting with scraps of fabric and various waste materials (tapes, plastic, rubber), the pieces undergo a continuous evolution to become real fabric jewels. In the final creative phase the use of corrosive textile printing, bleaching, dyeing and laser printing, allow to give the product a striking and personal appeal. A key aspect of the production is linked to environmental sustainability: Luli Grün collaborates with Vida Silvestre Argentina Association (WWF), creating designs that reflect and diffuse, in an unconventional way, the culture of the environment and its problems.
