Kork

A family of furnishing pieces with a sustainable soul, created by designers Jonathan Honvoh and Rodrigue Strouwen from the Belgian studio TwoDesigners and presented at the stand “Belgium is design” at the Salone Satellite in Milan. A project that proposes to start from the simple and usual cork to create different objects and furnishing. A base structure composed of two elements in recycled cork, united and combined together by a circular metal band, which compresses them creating a mechanical strength capable of ensuring the union, avoiding the use of glue and screws, and giving the structure a different visual and functional identity depending on the type of connection, from the simple closed band to that with supports. A multitude of possible assemblages and transformations that create elegant and modern pendant lamps, side tables and stackable containers.
