Fashion Weeks season continues. In these days there’s New York and soon will be up to Milan. But in recent years, the fashion weeks of the northern European countries are becoming increasingly important, a real hotbed of new and talented designers. One of these is surely Anne Sofie Madsen, who recently showed her new collection in Copenhagen. Her impressive background of work experience, ranging from Alexander McQueen to John Galliano, has clearly influenced her work. The autumn/winter 2012, “Sedna”, is inspired by the tragic story of a woman who loses her life in the ice, and returns as an avenging goddess. The clothes describe a skeleton female, in which the relief designs are taken from the art of carving, particularly to tupilak, mythical creatures carved in ivoryby Inuit, while the patterns are taken from illustrations created by the designer. In the gallery I propose the most spectacular pieces of the catwalk, which you can see entirely on the site.
