“1 Per Diem” is a brand founded by Vanessa Espinosa, designer of Philippine origin who moved to New York to pursue her dream in fashion. Concentrated mainly on bags, Vanessa’s work also ranges to jewelry. But here I want to talk about her bags. The spring/summer 2012 collection looks not much different from the previous ones, because “1 Per Diem” pieces are disconnected from the trends of the moment, but designed to last and to be used for multiple seasons. To emphasize this concept, the colors used are sober, distant from the explosion of neon and pastel that we are seeing this days. The models are minimalistic, but with a twist that makes them up to date and perfect for an outfit that can accompany you throughout the day, from work to dinner out. They range from small structured and geometric shoulder bags (I really liked the detail of the handle stick), the minimal clutches, those with more details, the soft and roomy shoppers. The materials used, all high quality, are processed manually to make them look old and used.
